Default hello guys i need a lil help

Ok i was given a 1968 Mustang today with no title.I want to get a title for the car in North Carolina. The Guy just gave it to me to get it out of his yard.He Never got a bill of sale or title when he got the car.He was just going to fix it to drag race with. The only vin number on the car that i can find it very very hard too see.

I guess my question is.Is There anyway to get a title for the car? I have heard of a bonded title but i know nothing about it.I am only 20 years old and most of the car has new metal so i dont know were there could be vin numbers

Unless someone here is from NC, you're going to have to go to the DMV and ask them what you need to do. Likely they'll ask you to jump through a dozen hoops before they get you a salvage title. Pray the car was never stolen.

Broadway is not Titles Unlimited!!! THey do a great job and will require a police officer to validate the vin. They are above board and will cut through a difficult process. You will need a bill of sale from the guy who gave you the car. This is both for the Broadway process and your own protection. Perhaps more so your protection. You do not want the guy who gave it to you or some other tool stepping up later after you have spent a bunch of money on the car, producing a title and taking it! Get the bill of sale and have it notorized, get the title through Broadway, then invest money and get it registered.

Oh yeah, the vin on a 68 is on the front of the dash, right (passenger) side. You can see it through the windshield. That is the only vin on the car that matters for titling.

Not exactly true. There are several hidden VIN stampings on the car.

http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/vehicle_ser...oRegister.html

Up here in Canada we have a law that applies to abandoned vehicles. ONE Fiscal year.

I bought one in Oct 2007 but was lucky enough to find the last registered owner to get a bill of sale.

To get the title without this BOS, was about a 90 day procedure and $300.00 cost dealing with the government.
