I'm always afraid that I'll drop something in the intake when I'm taking the carb off or putting it on.

I always tape a string to my wing nut every time i take it off or put it on so i don't do like my friend but i know better to drive it home like he did.

well,ive tried everything and nothings worked. im gonna have to take off the manifold. ive been asking around, and some people are telling me i need to take off the valve covers, is this true for the 289 2 valve?

so i dont need to take off the valve covers, i just need to take out the distributer and coolant. do i need to drain the oil?

I don't think the lip of the valve covers will keep you from getting the manifold off, if so you will know right away though.

Instead of pulling the manifold you can pull the engine, turn it upside-down and shake it...
