Default Question: Wheel and Tire

Good morning all,

My question is as follows...

For my 67' convertible 289 2v wheel hubs have 5 bolt, will the following work for the rear...

Wheel: American Racing Torq Thrust II, 17 x 8 with a 4.75 bolt pattern & 4 1/2" back spacing? (7/16 lug nuts).

Tires: 235 55 17.

I have seen that the 17x8 will fit but the back spacing has me concern. My car has 5 bolt. The site calls 4.75. Is this right?

Please advise, regards.

Mustangs unlimited and others sell 1" spacer kits that supposedly allow you to install those newer model wheels on the older Mustangs.

I put a set of 17x8 2003 cobra wheels on my '66 mustang. I needed the spacer up front, but not in the rear. Cant remember how thick it was, but I didnt need a full inch up front.

The correct back spacing for a 17X8 on a classic Mustang is 4.75" you won't need spacers Link to Artical

Also your car has 1/2 studs not 7/16. The wheels you are looking at are make for a chevy
