Default Rear end swap HELP!!!

I have a 1968 mustang with a 5.0 and t5 tranny from a 1991 mustang. the car was originally an inline 6 so the 8inch rear end is good but wont hold alot of HP.

i have found many 9 rear ends for a nice amount of money so i was wondering which one of these rear ends is the better by. considering my mustang has rear drums but front disc brakes.

here are the choices:
1.
COMPLETE FORD 9" REAR END AXLE ASSEMBLY. DRUM TO DRUM. 3.00 OPEN DIFFERENTIAL. 61" FROM DRUM TO DRUM. COMES WITH DISC BRAKE ROTORS AND CALIPERS WITH NO MOUNTING BRACKET. STOCK FORD STUFF.

USED, NOT REBUILT $225

2.
Complete rear end 60" drum face to drumface 3.0 gears 28 spline axels, E brake cables $185.00

3.
9" rear from an 86 Lincoln LSC with disc brakes $350

4.
I have up for sale, parts that came out my 1964 1/2 mustang D code V-8 . i have 5 lug diff. complete for $450

5.
1968 lincoln versi with disc brakes already on it

which one is an easier swap, meaning less modifications??
oh also i have no driveshaft but i found one for $150 out of a 91 mustang.

'91 mustang drive shaft is about 6" shorter than the stock driveshaft. i have one out of a '92 sitting in my basement if you need an exact measurement.

easiest readily available swap is the 8.8 out of a fox body mustang. you can swap out ranger axles to get 5-lug.

$150 for a drive shaft is way too much. I disagree with the easiest swap being the 8.8. The easiest swap would be a 9 inch from a 67-70 cougar or mustang. After that the Versailles rear is a bolt in also. The draw back the the versailles is that the gear ratio is usually 2.49:1. That would make 5th gear on your T5 useless.

Also the 8" rear is a good solid rearend and will hold up to a 5.0 with a T5. It is an 8 right? It is not an I6 4 lug rear is it?

I imagine it is, as he mentioned the car originally had an I6. It definitely needs to go.

Personally, I'd do the 8.8 swap. In fact, I'm going to do said swap. It's cheap and fairly easy; the only thing you may need to farm out is the work to get the coil perches hacked off and new leaf perches welded in at the proper angle. 5 lug axles and brakes are easy to come by. Fox body 8.8's are very easy to find, much easier than a 9" the proper width.

Bingo. I didn't say "easiest" i said "easiest readily available." junkyards aren't exactly overflowing with 9" rears out of 67-70 mustangs. there are approximately 1 bazillion 8.8s though.

I'll bet they have a few grandas and versailles though. Those are bolt ins. No cutting brackets and welding spring perches involved.

Most of those have been stolen by now as well. 9" rears just aren't easy to come by. People figured out a long time ago which cars to look for to find one, so finding a Granada or Versaille with an axle is going to be difficult.
