Default Quarter Panel Extension Molding question

Has anyone else run into this problem? There's not enough room to get the nut on the bolt. Should I just drill the hole out enough to get the nut on?

Oh and I finally completed my engine and tranny swap, after 5 years. Pics and a video to come soon.

you could pull the studs out and get a longer ones or turn them into bolt. Are these after market end caps? The ones I received on my fiberglass end caps are way too long.

This is the kit I got from Johns Mustang. The bolts slide into the molding on each end.

My bad. I read it wrong. I thought you were dealing with end caps. Have you tried to contact the distributor and explain that their studs are too short. I could come up with some redneck fixes but I would try to contact johns first. Might be able to find some longer bolts at a hardware store.

Good thinking, I hadn't thought of that yet.

You may have to rig some longer bolts somehow. This is why I hate buying aftermarket garb. You think if they are going to reproduce an item, they would get it right.

Those are the plastic type studs arent they? The ones with the little spring clip like the original would fit. You can buy a pack of them usually at Napa..

I tried Johns Mustang and got nowhere, maybe it was because I could barely understand his accent. Anyway, I'll try a few stores to see if they have anything simular. If I can't find anything I may just have to drill the holes out to fit the nut.
