3 speed transmission swap HEF BK for HEF BB

I have a problem with my 3 speed manual transmission(1964 1/2 with a 260 eng) and have found a used transmission from a 1965 with a 289. Both are 3.03. Mine is a HEF BB and the other is HEF BK. Are these interchangeable?

I was under the impression 3.03's didn't get put on Mustangs until '67. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

From the '65 Mustang Ford Shop Manual:

"The 2.77 three-speed transmission is used in all models with a 144 or 170 CID engine."
"The 3.03 HEF Model three-speed transmission is used on all models having a 260 or 289 CID engine."
