Starting Problems
Just overhauled my 351W and after getting it started, in less than five minutes it shut off and I have not had any luck restarting. I replaced the coil, distributor module and still no luck. I'm not getting any spark to the plugs
I have 9.6 volts to the positive side of the coil and no power on the negative side. I put a jumper from the battery to the positive side to get a full 12 volts and still nothing on the negative side.
When I turn the ignition switch the starter sounds strong and the engine turns freely. When I back off trying to start, a get a quick voltage reading on the negative side of the coil.
Any suggestions?

If your using a pertronix setup and not getting voltage to the coil I think that's a good thing. I dont think those ignitions close the circuit unless the dizzy is spinning.
Doesnt mean its not the issue however.
If you take the boot off the coil and crank the engine over are you getting spark to jump out of the coil to a metal object placed just above the coil?

nice.
btw the negative side of coil is not connected to ground constant. so measuring there doesn't really help much. the positive side of coil has constant 12V+ and then depending on the points (electronics) the negative side is connected to ground or not (altering)
