It seems like most of the FI's route their lines thru this area. Yeh, I could "whip up" a set of steel lines, but they are a little hard to convert into AN fittings, and I plan on hitting about 68-70psi on the fuel rails. To me, keeping the least number of splices/connectors is always best and this hose is easy to work with. I have not heard any complaints using the HT/HP "press loc" hoses. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has heard of any, and what they were. I am about at 3" form the collectors and plan to add a couple of stainless shields (about 10 minutes to make).

IMO 2" in a relativly unconfined area is enough for liqid filled hoses, maybe 3" for wires though...

not to say that a person could run a line down the full length of the exhaust by only 2", but 2" when just passing by, 2 or so inches will usually do the job.

The surface area exposed will make a difference as well. More area = more heat transfer.
