Default 1971 Mach 1

Im fixing to buy a 1971 Mach 1 which was a barn find, it has been in a large shed for 20+ years and its in primer, it has a 351 Cleveland in it, I just wanted to see what yalls opinions would be on the idea i have for the exterior, the interior is clean, it is Blue interior with the woodgrain. But anyways back to my exterior idea, my parents want me to do my own paintjob, but i want to make some small changes to the original paintjobs. I was thinking Midnight blue with Silver hood and silver stripes, but the change would be the Mach 1 Mustang Signature behind the front tire would be in Old English and the Mach 1 Signature on the trunk lid would be in old english, and off the sides of the Old English signature on the trunk lid have some scroll work coming off both sides of it im not sure if i want to just go a little off of the Signature or all the way to the end of the back. and also put these rims on it instead of the 38 year old stock rims it still has on it. I dont know what size to use for the rims though. (Any suggestions are welcome)
Please tell me what yall think of my ideas. Thanks in advance

Welcome!!
Pics would be great to see what you have already.
How rusty is it and what needs to be done to the body/frame?

Nothing has to be done to it quite honestly, there is no rust, it has been out of the elements its whole life really, its in primer. Its a perfectly straight body.

Hey good to have another 71 guy around here! I hope its in better shape than mine, of course I bet you pay more than $20 for it too. Post up some pics when you pick it up. You can get most parts for it and the Cleveland is a great engine, is it a 2v or a 4v? Either one is cool, just one is worth more than the other if you want to sell it. It idea for the lettering sounds interesting, I like gothic german fonts better but old English is a good choice too. I still dont know for sure what color I will paint mine, but your idea sounds pretty good, might be better than the flat black hood...

I'll give you whatever information I can when you start on it, being in Texas you probably wont have lots of rust to deal with, thats a good thing. Check the link in my sig for pics of how much worse it can be. Also I have a thread about it on here you might be able to get something from it. https://mustangforums.com/forum/clas...f-despair.html

Im considering all of the Gothic type font as Old English with the fancy writing like that lol. So give me some ideas of what you think would seem pretty cool. Its just ive never seen a car with Old English like that. And ive always loved the old english type font.
