my old 289 found a new home :-)
fella had engine trouble (overheating) with a 66 mustang, and we couldn't fix that with changing gaskets.
he had his heads checked, radiator flushed and we bolted them on.
hoses were pressurizing, something was wrong. Took the whole lot apart, engine out of car and it seems his block is cracked in the sleeves
since we assumed in my engine the heads were gone we changed the block. he took my block with his heads. my block even is a 66.
a buddy of mine did most of the work and I was there on Saturday to help. had to iron out a few issues, but now it's running not loosing any water or oil. no overheating. he's good to go :-)

you should see the smile on the fellas face. he's driving it the first time in 3 years. we only knew about him because he didn't know what to do it anymore (no help/money), so he wanted to sell. we had a look at the car and figured we could maybe fix it for him
it's not really the edge of the world where you'd find a ford small block at the scrapper alright. so we all try help out each other. what comes around goes around. i had about 10 people looking for blocks/heads etc when I fried my old engines as well. so i'm glad o help
