Default Spot weld tool

Has anyone ever used the spot weld machine instead of the MIG? There is one in Harbor Freight for about $200.00. Just wondering. Thanks

I have looked at that tool a few times but was too cheap to buy it and try it out. If you get it let us know how well it works.

Is this a self contained tool, meaning you don't need the actual MIG welder itself to run it? Or can it be used all by itself?
Any links of this tool would be great.

Cool,
Are those self contained, or do you need the welder to power them like the spot weld gun?

I was at Harbor Freight today and looked at the spot weld tool. It looks to be self contained just a power cord on it. It has 6 inch tongs and I think it would get to a good bunch of areas on our stangs, Firewall, front and windshield area of cowl and maybe others.

Do you gotta buy extra tips? I wonder how many welds you get out of one set of tips?
