rear coilover setup
are there many options?
i was walking through a friends neighborhood the other day and saw a 68 coupe. primer gray with some aftermarket 5 spokes. and i noticed he had coilover springs replacing his shocks in the rear. looked mean as hell. can i get some info on a setup like this?

Those are helper shocks and they are a big no no on a early mustang.Them and air shocks are a cheap way to lift the back but you put a load on the upper shock mount which will punch though the floor over time.

TCP makes 2 slick setups, the canted 4 link(their G-Link/Bar) and a 3 link(their pushrod rear coil over). Both use a cradle that bolts/welds in as the support structure for shock/spring mounting. The canted 4 link they have is certainly a cheaper option, and will handle very well(not sure what the travel is before bind, but it could be more thany ou'd ever see in use), and their 3 link is very expensive. Both use solid axles, and will handle very well and make excellent forward bite. I'm starting to lean towards their canted 4 link in mine for the future, it's cheaper than their 3 link, will probably handle just as well, less install difficulty and it has a bolting location at the rear bump stop for the differential, which is a great place to tie a roll cage into for added support in the rear suspension.
