electric fan cooling
i have a 65 mustang with a stroker.. so i have the basic 5 blade fan and aluminum radiator but it still ran a bit hot especially in los angeles traffic where its hot n alot of traffic.. so i got lucky n at the junk yark off an old mercedez i got a thin electric fan that fit for me to put it on the front.. with a switch that made the fan come on at a certain temperature..it was so good it never got passed 190 now.. but today it blew like it didnt turn on anymore and i tested it over and over it just blew... so instead of going dow to the junk yark and lookin anyone know of any good one on summit or local parts store like kragen?
I researched this awhile and went with a puller system with shroud from Summit here: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-16926/

yea i guess im a have to go to the junk yard to find another small one for the front of the radiator... but anyone run what i been doing having the stock fan pulling the air.. and an electrical fan as the pusher?
Most newer electric fans will work as a pusher. Just remember that you will need to turn the blade around. The newer designs are unidirectional. Pushers are not near as efficient as a puller. Something like 40% less. For me I have went back to the good ole clutch fan. This with a well fitting fan shroud will out perform most any electric setup out there. If it takes away 4 to 6 HP to turn a mechanical fan, thats like having a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower straped on the front of the engine. Also the number of blades and pitch will effect the cfm of air movment. Remember nothing is for free, so in essence the more energy used, the more cfm. I willl say that the new "S" blade design will out do the straight blades since most of the action is at the tips of the blades. Timing can be an issue with heat also. Good luck.
