New accelerator pump leaking badly!
I bought a rebuild kit and I wasn't planning on rebuilding the whole carb yet, so I decided to replace the accelerator pump. It was not leaking before I began. I removed the old one and installed the new one the same way, but now it leaks very badly. It just drips from the bottom of the pump fairly rapidly. The kit came with two accelerator pumps, so I tried the other one and got the same leak.
What has happened? Is it leaking through the screws or the accelerator pump? I notice these screws have lock-washers on them which I bet gas could seep through.
By the way, it's my original Autolite 1100 carburetor.

the flat surfaces on older carbs have a tendancy to warp from constant hot/cold, unscrewing and torquing fasteners. The best advise i've gotten on rebuilding carbs was to sand the surfaces flat, including the accell pump. Take some wet/dry 400 grit and flat stock and sand the surface flat, including the cover if necessary. Take a quick look after you start, and you'll see the high and low spots, you'll be surprized.
