Default Shock? Edelbrock vs. Bilstein vs.?

I have been searching the internet for a good shock to replace the KYB Gas Adjusts that I have up front. I did not like the KYBs because they were very rough. I have found that a lot of people like the Edelbrock and Bilstein. There is only like a $15 price difference between these two shocks so these are the ones I am leaning toward. I am only replacing the fronts right now because I am going to redo my rear suspension a little down the road. My car is a daily driver and it most likely will never hit the track but I do like to drive aggressively from time to time. I am not sure what spring is on the car so I am thinking about changing the spring to either a 560lb 1" drop or a 620lb 1" drop. I have heard the 620lb is very rough on a 65'. Any suggestions on this?

If anyone knows of another shock that is in the $100 or less category please let me know. Thanks!

You could always go with something that's 2 way adjustable. Then you can balance the front and rear to where you want it for your driving

Keep in mind they're more expensive, and it depends on what you want to do.

QA1 has a huge variety of shocks though, and are commonly used on aftermarket suspension setups.

if you dont want it to ride too rough then 560 will likely disappoint. 620 overkill.
bilsteins are great but if you want adjustable spax are also available.

I haven't done any heavy research into shocks yet, using KYB GR-2's at the moment which ride well with my 560 1" front drop springs and 4 1/2 leaf mideye's rear. I haven't pushed them yet but they ride comfortable and the car doesn't dip or bob excessively either, decent street compromise.
I was tempted by a deal on Biltstein's as a forum group buy previously, the Biltseins look pretty stout from an engineering point:

Haven't looked at the Edelbrocks at all yet.

The Bilsteins are good too, with different valving options for driving style...street, sport, race etc. Mustangs Plus sells the Spax adjustables, and Maier sells Bilsteins. Starfury runs the Edelbrock IAS shocks and says they're quite nice, they they ride better and handle better than the KYB Gas-A-Justs.

I have the Edelbrock's and replced the Kill Your Back KYB's and the ride is waaaayyyy nicer for as low as my car is.Not sloppy, just softer till you push it.

I think I have decided to give the Bilstein shocks a try this time around. I have read some good reviews on them and they look like a very beefy shock. Thanks for all the input and I will give a review after I get them on the car.
