I have nevr run into them in the past. Someone may sell them now. I just bought some 620 coils from Mustangs Plus and cut a whole coil.

Here is how my car sits with no motor or tranny. Once everything is in it will drop about another inch and a half.

GM people lower there cars with drop spindles. Mustangs are generally lowered with some performance modifications that include lowerin high rate springs and mid or reverse eye leafs in the rear. Additional gains are made by relocation of the upper a arm (primarliy for improved steerign geometry but also netting about 1/2 or to) and the remove of a portion of the lowering coil.

BTW - you prob know it, but as part of the conversion from i6 to v8 you do need to get v8 spindels which might be leading you to think about lowering spindels.

I hate to be a naysayer here, but you should not have even TRIED to set the ride height by cutting springs without the car fully assembled and with the motor in the car. I suspect you will be biuying new springs again in the future, but I hope it works out for you. I would not recommend to anyone EVER to start cutting coils without a fully assembled car sitting on the suspension to check the work.

i know i need to replace the spindles thats why i thought the 2" drop spindles would be an easy fix. i want to get the tire fully tucked for the front end but perhaps ill do the shelby drop which i hear only lowers it by about 1/4, and the one inch drop spring. i prefer compressing the springs with heat rather than cut off a spring, i find that doing this keeps the ride stiffer. shouldnt be hard to tuck the tire since im going with 17's in the front. i just dont want to find out that i should have gotten the drop spindles after spending money on the granada swap that will have no drop spindle available.

actually the suspension in my car was done a couple of years ago and has been through about 3 motors since. Driven it, raced it. A coil off a set of springs really isn't all that bad. anything more than a coil and a half and you'll start messing with the suspension geomtry beyond alignment correctability.
