Default Help with hp goal

Hey guys, I thought I would never make an engine thread but I am looking for some hp numbers from you guys.

Ill keep this quick but I know goals will be asked.

67 coupe, current 289 4 speed. This winter I am putting in a grab a trak suspension to get it sitting where i want it, 17" wheels and cobra disks to all 4 corners, and painting it. I will be rocking the stock 289 for the next year and then next winter if i can afford it i will be rebuilding the 351W I have sitting.

What I want to know is if i went with forged rods/pistons, somewhere around 9.5-10 compression (would like to get away with 91 octane), afr 185 heads, and whichever intake/carb suits the heads (may do edelbrock top end), what kind of hp/tq would that put out with stock stroke?

conversely, if i had the same combo but stepped up to a 393, how would those numbers sit?

I plan on doing subframes and export brace/monte carlo bar but thats about it. Pending on how much power it makes I will get a tremec if needed.

Long story short, what numbers can i hit "safely" before im going to start breaking parts every week. This will be a street car but I also want to run it down the track at the street legals friday nights. I drive hard and I will be smoking the tires daily. Will 400 rwhp break parts often? and can i hit that without stroking it?

thanks guys
