Default more c4 questions!

Ok, got the trans in the car, got all the little things done (starter, d/s, etc),
started pouring fluid in, got 5 1/2 qts in
fluid starts pouring out the vent thing
quit adding fluid, start car, let it warm up, go through a few gears, trans never really disengages, it's always trying to push the car forward. only gear where it doesn't move is park, and even park lurches a bit when i start the car.
let it run for a little, going through the gears, shut it off, add another 3 1/2 qts, repeat..same thing..car only goes forward, no difference in any gear except park will stop the car from moving. Can't rev past ~1500 in any gear (even park) feels like it would if i were to powerbrake it..

Do I just need to let it circulate fluid for a longer period of time?
i was only TOLD the trans that i put in was rebuilt about 3-4 years ago when i bought the car. But just wondering if this is normal or the trans is a pos.

If it wants to move in every gear then the forward clutch isnt releasing. It could be a valve body problem, and it could be that the forward clutch pack is toast. I have a bud in Charleston SC who could help you out, might take him 4 hours to go through it. I can do them in 4-6 hours, depending on how much cleaning it needs.
