I used this Braided SS hose by Summit and the installation was fairly simple routing it up along the outside of the passenger side frame rails and subframe connector. I also used the Summit brand hose ends to save a bit and found the quality to be great with no issues with any of them.

I have no issues with vapor leakage either inside the car or in the garage.

If your briaded lines are making your garage smell like gas, you have a sealing problem with your fittings. Braided line and fittings are aircraft grade and they don't tolerate stuff like that on airplanes.
