Default Headliner Sound Deadener

Ive seen some posts about the hundreds of sound deadening options...
And I'm tackling the headliner this weekend..

Does any1 recommend the best deadener for the headliner? The kit I bought came with some cheap stuff but I'm trying to do this right and tackle 1 section of the car at a time with the most efficient but best stuff.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I am going to use Dynamat on mine. It's expensive but it works awesome.

I did two layers of eDead sound deadener on mine, then put some "bedding" I got from a crafts store up there with spray glue to make sure the headliner fit properly and had some padding behind it. Worked great

Product by Second Skin called Damplifier Pro. Its just as good as Dynamat, if not better, and costs less. It sticks much better than any other product out there which is extremely important when doing the roof.

I think I used 8 sheets for a single layer on the roof of our 67 last spring. There is no roof vibration in our car now. Give the roof a good thump with your hand and its a solid thud.

Go to Lowe's and buy the grey foot mat off the roll in the flooring dept. Its closed cell foam and will deaden sound as well as insulate. It works great. $30-40 does the whole car.

They also have the aluminum foil coated closed cell bubble matt carpet insulation. Aluminum foil on both sides, more than double the bubbles of "bubble wrap". Strong enough to walk on and weighs absolutely nothing. I was looking at something else the other day and saw this stuff and thought that it would be incredible thermal insulation for under the headliner. Would work a heck of a lot better than the original fiberglass cotton-candy pads that were used and would not distort the headliner at all being less than 1/4" thick. (less than $5 a suare yard)
Same stuff that is sold under dozens of names on Ebay, just a heck of a lot cheaper. Stops exterior condensation on the vehicle!
Don't know how well it would work acoustically, but should really help with temps in the summer/deserts or even cold snows. Anyone seen it or tried it? Any down side to it?

I used Damplifier and it worked great. Drop a couple of sheets into the door panels also and you will pretty much kill all the road noise in the car. and if you have any left over put it into the sail panels of the car. Between the trunk quarter and the roof It will work wonders.
