Thumbs up lincoln versaille parts

There is a 1977 Lincoln versaille for sale not far from me.It has a 9
"rear with disk brakes ,351 windsor and c4 auto. I know the rear will bolt up to my 1970 fastback but what about the tranny, engine, front brakes, master cylinder and so on. Im not going to pick this up just for a rear. Any help would be appreciated.

Engine and trans should be no problem. The front brakes should be just like a granada swap. I could not tell you about the master.

versaille spindles have a larger lower ball joint hole then granada so they will not fit the mustang lower ball joint without a tapered shim. I would prefer the granada spindle and no shim.

The versaille spindle is still worth something to someone converting 55 to 6o's full size cars as they use larger ball joints. Sell them and buy the granada parts

I believe that the Versailles rear end is correct for a 65-66 but is several inches narrower than a 70 Mustang rear end.

Not neccessarily a bad thing. Using this rearend, rolling the inside of the fender lip, and using wheels with the correct backspacing will allow you to run a 10" wide rear tire without having to modify the wheelhouse or chassis. This used to be a common practice for 67-70 Mustang drag racers back in the day.
