Front sheetmetal weight???
To start off, these questions are for a '66 coupe with 302, in case it matters.
I finally have my engine/tranny in the car now and am starting to see what the stance will look like. Right now, if I place a level on the door, I have to lift the front of the level 3/8" on a 2' level, so the rear is sitting high. On mine, it is 108" between front and rear axle centerlines (I hope that's the right measurement), so does that mean I need to lower the rear by 3/8"x108"/24", or 1.6875"?
In order to figure out what I want to do, I need to simulate the weight of a hood, 2 fenders, the front apron (stock), etc. to make sure I know where the front end will be. Right now if I plop my 250# butt on the front end, it drops a little but not sure exactly how much.
So, after all my rambling:
Is the wheelbase supposed to be 108"?
Does anyone know, or have the ability to approximate, the weight of the front sheetmetal?
Is my math correct? Am I crazy?
Thanks in advance!

You gotta find out how it sits after being driven a while with everything on it. They tend to settle and drop a bit later when you rebuild the front end or when they sit for a while with the engine out.
I didnt weight my stuff, but then again I have a Cougar so it would be different anyway. Most people dont care about the weight unless they are trying to make it lighter, so I doubt anyone will know how heavy everything is.
