Post Wrecked my engine

Let the engine warm up as icurrently have no choke. Blasted out of driveway lots of wheelspin car goes sideways in back I left off to switch to second gear and I get a huge knocking noise. It idles but knocks like mad. Drove it back in and left it cool down to check on oil and water. No oil in water and the other way around. It's about 70 miles from home. Girlfriend will drive me back. Next week I'm in German so I won't be able to trailer it back for at least a week. No sign of damage outside. I'm sure I broke something internally. No idea what. I'm so pissed off with myself and car. It was like overrevving it but I have the limiter set for 6200 and tested once at 2500. bollocks

Probably just a rod bearing. Perfect time to drop in a stroker kit. Never look at it as a disaster unless the block has huge holes in it. Knocking rod bearings are an opportunity!

Thumpin is right. Perfect time for a stroker kit or to shoehorn a big block.

Ouch..sorry to hear that. Had the same thing with our '66 right after we re-did it. Thankfully ours was only a broken rocker stud. Was a good excuse to go get aluminum heads though

probably a good idea to actually drive it around a bit before smashing on it get everything spinning under load (but im sure you figured that out )

Hopefully an easy fix...how many miles were on that engine?

Sorry to hear that. Is it higher pitch or lower knock? Could just be rocker came loose. Hope it's just something simple.

Ugh. My sympathies. But like everyone else has said, you might as well make use of the opportunity...
