Question racing seats?

is there any way to get racing seats in a 64' mustang? The one I just got has terrible seats and I don't want whiplash ANYWAY, so that would be great. I need to know if there is any way to get seats like these in my mustang. Dosn't need to be these exact seats, but I would prefer to do without buying a adapter. also my price limit is 800$ for everything.
Thanks in advance.

$800 is a decent budget for that. Whether or not it's really worth it is a different question, but I'll leave that alone.

For that price, you could probably find some Mach I seats. Another option is a set of Scat seats. They're not Recaro's, but they're better than the $160 specials from Summit.

Another option is a set of older BMW 3-series Recaros, or a set of Fiero seats. You could probably pick either of those up for really cheap and have plenty of money left to recover them.

With aftermarket seats, you may need brackets, but it shouldn't be a huge deal.

I have to agree. I have the $160 Summit seat and it isn't very comfortable at all. I think I still have to get used to it, but it hurt my back sitting it in for the hour or so I was in it(first drive with it). Not much cushion, but I'm ok with that.

Why? A) they're butt ugly, b) they look seriously uncomfortable.

Ah there not that bad and that is a seriously good price for cushioned seats. Look up sparcos, and youll have a coronary theyre like 600 each for base models. If you dont mind the extra weight, 89-93 thunderbird supercoupe seats are awsome. They weigh quite a bit, but they hug you, are full adjustable, have side suport and lumbar support, plus theyre a ford part, so you know the qaulity is high. Theyre also extremly comfy even on long trips. Theyd get my vote

The ones in the OP's link look like fiberglass buckets with hardly any padding. Not exactly what I'd call comfortable. Hell, I'd rather have the Summit Specials.

69/70 seats they make a sport seat kit that makes them really close to one and still feel good to sit in.

I bought a pair of GTS IIs from Corbeau. They have racing style seats and will sell you matching fabric to upholster your back seat. They also sell a huge variety of brackets that are car specific.

All I can say is I won't ever have seats like that in my car. They are way too uncomfortable and don't look good. The only seat upgrade I would even consider is late model seats from a fox body or SN95 etc. I don't really care for that look either, but at least they look good and are comfortable.
