Default Tach wiring question

I bought this new summit racing 4 in 1 tach for my car today and I'm trying to figure out what gauge of wire I need to run from the tach to the sending units. The wire from the tach is 18 gauge, what should I connect to the 18 gauge to the sending units?

Did it not come with any instructions?

I have never dealt with an all in one like that before, but the tach gets its signal from the coil. I don't know if that helps you or not.

18 awg is fine. There's not much current to those tachs or senders.

Looks like a cool tach. I assume the other guages are for volts, water temp and oil?
I just went with the black mini-tach, since the car already had the other factory guages.

It has instructions but they do not mention the gauge of wire to use.

Yup, water temp, oil pres, and volts. The only reason i got it is so that i know exactly what my engine is doing, not just using the idiot gauges the car came with.

I had some 16 gauge laying around, would that work? Don't want to hook it up til i know for sure. Thanks for the responses guys.

16 is fine, it just takes up more space, being it's thicker.

Ok so i finally got a chance to finish it today. I have everything hooked up.

Tach Power goes to the ignition
Tach wire goes to the - coil
Oil pressure goes to the oil sender in the intake
Water does the same
light goes to the light switch
the volt wire goes to the - battery

The water pressure goes to 250 and jumps around (obviously wrong) and the tach stays dead, while the oil pressure stays at 15 at all times. Any suggestions on what the hell i did wrong?

I just installed a Haneline set up and they sent me new oil pressure and water temp senders to work with their gauges. Could be that your gauges don't work with your stock senders or did they send you new ones?

Don't know about the tach but I installed mine to a pertronix and it worked fine just attaching it to the (-) on the coil.

They did send me new sending units and i was told i have to use them so im going to switch them out tomorrow. As for the tach i ran it to the - side of the coil and for whatever the reason it just stays at 0. Its a stock electronic ignition so im not sure if it would cause any problems, i don't see why it would but ya never know.
