changed the clutch and it wont go into gear. starts fine in neutral but will not go into any gear. turn the car off, and you can go through the gears fine.

whatcha think?

sounds like it wont disengage.

If you shut the car off and put it in 1st gear, push the clutch all the way to the floor then bump the key does it lurch forwards?

I suggest pulling the coil wire first then try this.

okay so yeah its not disengaging.

The clutch disc for whatever reason is not being released fully or at all from the pressure plate / flywheel. Because of this the input shaft is always spinning and torque loaded thats why you cant shift when the car is running. As far as the trans is concerned you are trying to shift without pressing in the clutch.

So

You have to figure out why when you press on the clutch pedal it does not release the clutch.

You are using a linkage right? On a toploader or what? Is it even hooked up to the pedal do you feel resistance in the pedal???
