My fathers AMC has a bent axle. Don't feel it until you hit about 35 to 40. At 60 the entire car shakes and at 75 its as smooth as glass cruising down the highway. He's got 2 replacements on order. A bent axle is something you'd feel for sure. Sorry to hear this as it can be a pita to resolve between the axles, wheels and tires.

btw we were heading down that way Friday night but stopped in Turnersville for a bite to eat and got talking to a number of people at a gathering there.

It's a shame you didn't make it. There were sooooooooooo many cars. The main street had them parked for 4-5 blocks and then the side streets, business lots and anywhere else people could park, there were cars.

At 9pm just about the whole group did some laps. There were cars of all different flavors. Vineland has a big cruise coming up in June, I think.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I've some info on some of the upcoming shows/cruises but haven't seen anything for Vineland yet. Late June and July not sure how much we'll be attending events though. We are expecting our first child (baby boy W00t!) July 10th!!! What we do will be decided on how the wife is doing and feeling at that point.

We did a show yesterday in at Atco. Was rather small but a few very nice cars where there including a 1 of 1 Chrysler 300 F convertible.. only one that was ordered in triple black. There were only 248 made in total iirc. The thing was parked behind us and was in 100% concourse condition. He requested that the car not be judged for the show which really.. was pretty damn nice of him. I took about 200 photos which are posted Here if you or anyone else wants see them.

That's what I was thinking. Seems like the car would want to wander though, but I suppose it depends on how much runout there really was.

Yes, for the love of.... (insert favorite person or religious icon here), buy a new set of axles.

First of all congrats on the "one on the way" You are going to have a lot of fun sharing your tools. LOL
Great Pictures. Didn't know about that one. There was a big show in Egg Harbor City, but I had my boy's baseball game in the AM and didn't feel like riding out there with only an hour or two left.

Using my new dial indicator I got a .011 measurement on the face of the driver's side flange.

I didn't get to the passenger side. It's funny that I never felt it, but I rarely do any highway driving.

Sooooooooo I will look at the other side and then perhaps change out the axles. I still want to get my T5 shifting properly so it may have to wait a bit.

I think .002 is tolerable upper limits.

Replace both sides.

What do those axles run? I looked up the website, but there weren't any prices for axles.
