Default A tough question!!

I have a 66 mustang with a 1996 f150 5.0 fuel injection with an E40D transmission from the same truck. I am swapping out the engine with a rebuilt 1969 351 windsor and was wondering if anyone knows if that transmission would work with the 351 windsor????
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

you may need a new torque converter and fly wheel, don't know for sure. But the bell housing will bolt to the block. The other issue is the computer. The E40D is connected to the ECM, it does communicate w/ the engine control module to retard timing during shifts. So if you are not fuel injecting the 351 you may have issues w/ the tranny. I wouldn't do it unless I was going w/ a fuel injected setup. the 96 E40D is a good tranny but it is an electronically controlled transmission. And this one in particular needs to talk to the engine control module.
