And 3300 rpm for 4 miles for 3 minutes and 10 seconds once a week isnt over taxing or over revving the engine by any stretch of the imagination.

And Im not sure if there any truth to this but these V8s just seem to run a lot nicer at 2600 to 3000 rpm than they do at 2000 to 2500 RPM. But Im betting that in many cases they do.

I agree, they do run better at the slightly higher RPMs, but while just cruising I prefer to have it lower than that. I drive mine all over the area and am on the highway for 20-40 minutes at a time. Its really nice cruising at 2K RPM with OD. I would prefer to not be turning more than 2500. I defintely do not want to be turning more than 3k at 70.

Also, if your car has an open rear, I'd highly suggest buying a limited slip 3rd member with the gears already installed. It will make a night and day difference in your traction off the line.

This is the one we have: http://www.cjponyparts.com/currie-3r...-1973/p/CE325/
Couple of questions...if I were to install a rear end such as the one at the link above...is it pretty much like my stock one I am running now?

I know I'd have to change the little gear on my speedo cable but could I use pretty much every thing else?

I'd buy new brake pads either way but I am assuming I could run with my existing drive shaft, brake lines, brake drums, etc, etc ?

What he said...it's a drop in replacement. Very easy to do.
