Default bumper removal ?

currently restoring a 67 coupe, have it mostly striped, chrome off ect...
filing holes, putting new primer base coat on...
cant figure out how to get the rear bumper off to redo rear piece.
nuts are set into small area and angle of rear metal precludes getting any kind of wrench behind bumper... any ideas would be great.

thanks for any info

Pretty sure it is removed like my 66... you have to take off the bumper with the mounts attached... undo the mount bolts on the inside of the trunk, then after you remove the bumper with the attached mounts, you can remove the mounts themselves from the bumper.

that worked like a charm, lol after i dug out about a pound of misc crap from the rear trunk wall, ( im always surprised what i find in old cars ) i did indeed find the monting bolts for the bumper and after a little bit of WD40 and the
application of a breaker bar, the rear bumper came right off...
and then i immediately wished it hadnt. ACK ! i swear whomever had this car before me well id like to havea long talk with him or her...

post pics on my flickr acct later.

i found, missing bolts for the rear valance, little bit of rust , a few small holes ( fixed now ) gotta love bondo, like 6 coats of paint and a dorked up exhaust. one tail pipe sticks out farther than the other...ack.

speaking of the exhaust, the whole system looks to be way low.
not sure if the previous owner just threw some pipes on it or dorked up the
install on the kit.. lets face it, hanging an exhaust is normally not that difficult. the pipes are solid they just look low to me, especially on a car thats
got 75 talls all around.

so fixed all that, smothed it all out and put a good coat of primer and
and some blue rustoleum on it to preserve it. gonna be a while before she goes to the paint shop. lol the whole car is gonna have a wal mart paint job
before im done... still need to pull the doors, and re hang the PS front sheet
metal.

Your shackle and spring setup looks about like mine did when I got it. Oh that brings back bad memories of replacing the springs.

Exhaust does look a little hokey.

I bought a set of 5 leafs from Laurel Mountain Mustangs:

You can pick up springs a number of places though. They just happened to have a good deal when I bought mine. I've heard of people having problems with backorders from them though so I would call them first and verify they have what you want in stock.
