You would want the springs in the link below for your hinges if you used that fiberglass hood.

I definitely vote for the 70 Mach 1 or even a plain 70. I do not like the S197 Mustangs very much. I really don't like many of the cars built in the last 10 years. The newest Mustang I like is 2004. What I want to have for a daily driver is an unmolested 87-93 Fox.

I got my first car when I was 13, way back in 1982. Still have it and I might get to drive it this summer, or rather I might have to drive it this summer if I gotta move. Its a 67 Cougar and it was a great car to learn how to work on cars. I didnt know much when I got it, but now I do ground up and frame off rebuilds.

One bit of advice, dont start a huge project like painting if you cant get it finished in a timely manner. Mine has been sitting since 1986 and I just got the paint done in 2008. I dont even remember what it is like to drive it. Its the red one behind the Mustang in my sig.

My 65 was my 1st car. I got it in 94 when I was 15.
