Well I changed the radiator including some other parts see below:

https://mustangforums.com/forum/7082837-post14.html

Still have white smoke billowing out of the tailpipes mainly the driver side. I did notice that the distributor was slightly loose and was able to move by hand with moderate force. So my next step is to check the timing and adjust the carb. See what happens after that if no significant changes I will take the car to a local shop for a professional diagnosis.

If you mean rotate the distributor, say 10 degrees, that is perfectly normal. that is how the timing is advanced under hard acceleration and high speeds.

rotate the rotor, yes. normal (as above centrifugal advance). rotate the whole distributor, not normal when it's clamped down. anyway, ya. timing is important. but it seems there's somethign wrong on one side at least. try compression test, check spark plugs

If you smell gasoline. You should have adjusted your carb from the start. Not sure if you do though

The white smoke is vapor in your exhaust. Blue smoke is oil in your exhaust. Vapor can be two things, fuel or water. Ever wonder why a cold engine puffs. It is water vapor in the exhaust. If a warm engine does that, it is either running rich or has coolant leaking into the combustion chamber/cylinders. Both need to be addressed and not ignored, which is why you are asking us. Look at your plugs. If they are fouled up, then you are running rich. If they look like they are steam cleaned, you have a head gasket issue or cracked block, head, or something. If you are loosing coolant, it is another sign that you probably have a blown head gasket or crack. A crack or blown gasket It is not the end of the world and can be fixed and a carb can be rebuild or tuned, but you do not want to keep running it if it is dead rich or loosing coolant.

UPDATE: Took the car to the shop today had the timing and carb adjusted. The smoke is blue smoke not white looked white to me but is definitely blue. The shop did a compression test results were 140-145 all the way around. Car is running much better and smoke is less visible at times.

So basically where I am at now is just going to pull the engine and trany to start a ground up resto mod. I will probably start a fresh thread to document my progress but it will be slow going, since I plan on doing most of the work. Plus I'm not a millionaire

Wish me luck
