christine is running
well here is some story:
buddy bought a late 70s Cougar (mayeb early 80) in UK. he drove it for 100 miles and just before ferry to ireland broke down. lost oil, engine crap. pulled it to ferry and we pulled it back to Cork from ferry.
told him engine needs rebuild, but the bores are still ok. too much for him, sold the car.
new owner knows a spray painter who volunteered to paint, we offered to help with the work, but he'd have to pay for parts and losts of beer.
We rebuild the engine, changed from 351M to 400, put it on engine stand. utterly sweet engine. love it.
back in car the gearbox packs up (FMX).
We source a C6 in the UK, so he buys it and the seller forgot to put it into a car (trunk) that was shipping to Ireland. So we had to organise shipping for it ... what a bummer.
We spent one night modifying the linkage (he has a B&M shifter), but FMX has the lever up and C6 has it downwards. Then last night we cut the dipstick tube & dipstick to match the car, cleaned up, replaced gaskets.
During the week we had the driveshaft shortened by a couple of inches.
we had so many troubles with it and stones in our way with that car, it was unnatural. we call her Christine.
.... and ... after a full year she's finally driving on her own. forward, backward. she's steering and braking.Never I was so glad to see a car leave our place.
We have a big BBQ with our car club this weekend and can unveil it finally.
I'll make sure to post pictures of the finished project ...
this is what it looked like before (what we started with)

I was expecting to see a picture of a Plymouth Fury.
