Default Drip rail weatherstripping?

For the Drip rail weatherstripping, Up under the door frame/top of window glass. The new rubber weather strip has a metal end with a screw-hole in the front. It is for a 65-66 coupe. My original weatherstrip did not have the screw mount. It had a little tab that dug into the rubber. I think this was specific for the 64 and early 65.. So the new weatherstrip does fit, but this metal tab just hangs loose and will come off with use. So do I tap a hole into the door frame to mount it like it should be (That is how the original metal trim that holds the weather strip is attached all around the door frame.)?

Sure, it should be just a tiny hole anyways. This is towards the front of the car correct? I think that's how mine is as well. It fit good.

That is what I was hoping to hear. I left it installed without a screw and the weight of the end cap is slowly working the insulation out of it's track. I hate to drill a hole into the car where there is none, but this piece demands it and will make the weatherstrip more secure over the original installation method.
Thanks again!
