Default has anyone ever considered doing this?

I'm sure someone has thought of this before, but has anyone ever swapped in a modern fuel neck so they dont have to stand and hold it and spill fuel all over while trying to fill up their stang? I know it sucks for me because I can only hold it a certain way to get it to stop from spilling and even then the fuel pump kicks off ever once in a while. I'd like to just place it in the filler neck and let it fill with out me having to hold it in there. Anyone think I can just go down to the local junk yard and find one to use or does anyone know of a specific make/model where this has been done?

Oh and I have a 67 coupe so its not like this fuel neck has to be long at all, quite short actually.

thnx

What I do to avoid this issue is to ease up on the trigger when its getting close to being full. I hardly ever have a problem anymore.

you could get a fuel cell and avoid the fill neck all together but bad news if you have lots of stuff in the trunk.

Try a different gas station. The newer pump nozzles don't seem to
have that problem as much.

I like that idea. That would be nice. Post back if you make one.

I actually got a late model filler pipe and cut the guts out of it and inserted it into the filler neck for my '70. Here's some pics.
Here's a late model filler neck

I cut out just the trap door "guts'

I sliced my stock "70s neck in half, ground the trap door's diameter down to just fit into the filler tube.

And then welded it back together.

ive never had an issue filling up and spilling ...

just kneel down, listen for when the gas is hitting the filler neck and start slowing down the flow.

watch in the tube and you can see if coming up.

... i mean you do know the gas nozzle has a variable output pending how much you squeeze right and that its not just off or full blast ....

i kid i kid
