Default Mini tubs

I'm debating tubbing the rear of my 65fb, but worried that I'd have to change the frame rails, interior(back seat, trim, etc) and trunk hinge support. I'd like to get a 285 tire under the rear and don't like the look of the flared fenders (like the Maier trans am type). Another option, which may be less intrusive, is to re-skin the quarters about 2" out and blend in.
Any one try either of these options?

I would do http://www.autoworksparts.com/wheel_tub_kit.htm pushing the quarter out 2 inches would look funny to me.

The mini tubs I have seen split the factory wheel wells and added about a 2" piece in between. The inner well gets slammed to the subframe. I cannot gaurantee that yourstock interior parts will still work. The cars I have seen were race cars with no rear interior.

Hotrod.com has a minitub DIY. I too was considering it on my 66. This caught my attention because it's a technique that incorporates part of the trunk floor. The intent is to cut the trunk floor about 1-2" inside the wheel housing, and then move the entire housing inward and lay the cut trunk floor w/housing, atop the existing trunk floor for support. Simple, but very effective.

The only problem I would see with that is that the 'original' wheel housing curves toward the outside of the car at the front, which wouldn't save you much room. The Autoworks tub is squared in the corners , therefore riding flush with the frame. Another issue is, what do you do with the leaf spring that's mounted on the outside of the frame. You may clear the housing but you will not clear the spring. To gain the full advantage of either tub, you'd have to relocate the springs on the inside of the frame.
