TBI vs. carb
So I'm looking at a TBI setup for my I6 mustang from affordable fuel injection, and was wondering what you guys opinion is on this. Will it be that much better than a stock setup with a Pony carbs carburetor (I have one but not installed yet)? I like the idea of not having to worry about tuning it and the computer taking care of things and the ease of drivability with the fuel injection. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated, especially if you are using a tbi fuel injection setup. The link for the system is below. Thanks!

TBI will add throttle response, easier starting, more hp, torque and MPG's
Heres an article from a few years back, they added tbi and then N20.

(just messin' with ya)
waldo - TBI is likely to be better-behaved from cold start in low temperature to fully warmed up, but since the intake manifold is still wet-flow I doubt that cylinder to cylinder mixture variation would be much better than with a carb. How much programming control does that kit offer?

Well, the kit doesn't seem to offer very much programming control at all, but that doesn't really bother me. I want to keep pretty much everything stock with the I6 and use this car as my daily driver so I'm not planning on adding any extras. If I'm looking at it right you give them the specs for your car with the cam and all and they preprogram a chip for you.
the 200 6 needs all the help it can get, even though the fuel distribution thru the log intake sucks, the finer the fuel is atomized the better it will run.
I have been sold on efi from the first time I tried it. Just switching from a carb to the old holley projection tbi way back in 1990 yeilded dramatic results for me, more power everywhere, instant throttle response and about 4 mpg's better. I also have used the holley projection di and now am putting the powerjection on my 408.
If you add a header and port divider for center port, good ignition system even a duraspark from a 80's 200 and the efi it will make a very noticable difference, The 1bbl on the 200 leaves a lot to be desired, I've built a couple 200's efi was never even available for them back then, I did one with a 2bbl holley (milled the carb pad) and one with the offy 3 one barrels, that one ran really good.
get an Aussie crossflow head and you can really make some power.
