Can't wait to see how it turns out. We're thinking something in the same color range. We're probably a month away with body work and still kicking around PPG vs Sherwin-Williams

I used PPG on my car the first time around and was extremely disappointed even with their clear. Garbage quality IMO for a classic. (again could have been my choice of painter/color and other different variables to get the crappy job)

In the long run, I went with Dupont for the repaint. VERY HAPPY. It may have cost a little more but the end result was a much better quality paint job.

Wasn't sure about dupont colors, I'll have to reconsider. After blasting I primed with Dupont 2580CR zinc chromate epoxy.

Make a poll and see what brand paint was used the most. You will get great feedback. There are some great brands on the market

I'd be interested to see the results as well. Plan to do a bit in the future.

This Paint is a GM color used on 2010 Chevy Equinox, 2010 GMC Terrain, and 2009 Pontiac G6. It's called Cardinal Red Metallic by Chevy and Merlot Jewel Metallic by GMC. We got it from a local paint shop, it's in an Autocolor can, and we going with FinishPro Clear Coat. We are trying to keep from busting the budget. The GM paint code is WA573Q. Paint guys are coming over tonight they wanna check it out since we did our own body work, and primer. Pics up soon!

Any progress on the paint.

I think I've located my red, need to knock on a door tomorrow and get the paint code off the car since there were several reds over the years.....and its........Cadillac XLR crystal red.
