New seat upholstery
I bought some of those replacement vinyl seat upholstery kits for the '67 and had a try with the passenger seat. It is an absolute horror of a job with the dog clips, but I think the result was well worth it.

I got the driver's seat done as well. Turned out the base had been done before but the back-rest hadn't. The base was done really badly and they all the wires. Nothing that some choice swearing and 15 minutes with the pliers couldn't fix though! It felt bloody good to have the seats done and back in.
Surprisingly, just about everything underneath the vinyl was OK. Only the passenger base foam could have been replaced, but I didn't think it was worth it (I never sit there anyway!). I did replace some of the burlap as it was worn. I just got similar coloured cloth and sewed it in.
All the frames were in top condition. Just wiped the bust off. Someone had obvioulsy done some work on the driver's seat as all the mechanism springs were in the wrong place. One of them was jammed into the slide, which explains why the seat was so hard to slide forward.
Cheers

Front seats are easy to do with the right hog rings and pliers. I had a cheap pair at first that broke when I tried to get the ring around the listing wire. Luckily I have a neighbor who does sofa re-upholstering from her garage and had a quality pair that she let me borrow.
Try the rear seat next. The frames are always rusty and in need of repair or replacement (if you can find one!). I used several wire coat hangers and tons of time stripping and repainting mine before the real fun began- the actual upholstery.

That looks good. It can be a bit of a pain, but its well worth it. I like that color too.
I have a comment about your seat belts though. I don't think you want the shoulder belts going to a point thats lower than your should. In an accident, it will pull down on your spine. I don't think thats a good idea. Id rather have just the lap belts.

I know what you mean about the belts. They're not ideal. However, I did do a bit of research and they are installed in accordance with the guidelines of the FIA Mtorosport regulations. They prefer the shoulder straps to be within 10 degrees of horizontal. However, up to 50 degrees is accetpable.
Mind you, given the choice between exerting force on my spine or using my face a crumple zone, I'll take the spine anyday.
