Talking Muffler Questions??

hey I am going to be sending my 65 mustang coupe to a muffler shop in about

two days or so and I was wondering what types of mufflers you guys prefer? I

was thinking about getting some super 44 mufflers because I heard they have a

deeper tone than the 40s. Is this true? because I want my car to have a deep

aggressive tone. Thanks for all your input ahead of time I really appreciate it.

Hooker Maxflow(iirc) will give you the best performance without it being too loud.

After trying 06 GT takeoffs (loud and blatty), Magna Flows (loud), Magna Flow XL Turbos (VERY loud and annoyingly raspy), I settled on Dynmomax Super Turbos. Good sound, not too loud. I can hear the radio while driving AND hear the blower when accelerating. I have 2 1/2" X-pipe with full tailpipes.

Flows sound good on a hot rod becuase they are annoyingly loud and usually don't get driven too much. I like the magnaflows on my mustang because around town I can hear the radio and when I accelerate they open up nice and loud. Oh but on the freeway I can't hear anything becuase im turning 3000rpms so yea lol

Magnaflows work for me with a more vintage throaty sound. The Flowmasters tend to sound tinny as they don't cancel the higher pitch sounds as well, I refer to marbles in a coffee can sound.

Flowmaster is also known as Blowmaster and Dronemaster for good reason. I cant stand the hollow tin can sound of chambered mufflers. I like straight through mufflers like Magnaflow and Dynomax Ultraflow. I will run glasspacks and turbo mufflers etc, before ever going chambered again.

Here are some videos of mine with the Dynomax Ultras, sorry the videos are the greatest.

I like long glasspacks on 2" pipes straight out the back of the car.

But I am in a minority on that, but thats ok.
