Default Has anyone here used the CPP front end?

This "mini sub-frame kit" seems to be right up my alley, has anyone here installed one? I think that this with a roller spring perch would really be the way to go over using a high dollar strut rod and tube or rollerized a-arms, for $700 it seems like a deal to me.


The only thing I really dont get is why the UCA is shorter than stock? For a 65-66 application this would require even more shims to get it right?

I have read the threads on the other "stang" forum and also one huge thread on a Nova forum, that was the first kit design and those guys love em.


So, anybody here have at it?

Uh, and what's the point of the kit? Seems like a lot of money for something not needed.

As far as shorter UCA, it's for getting more aggressive camber curves when compressing the suspension.

And you want something with a strut rod, really, you do. That design is typically used in mass production low cost non performance vehicles. If you look at high end performance cars, most either use some sort of a strut rod(or something that serves the same function), or multi-triangulated multi-link suspensions that incorporate strut rods or links that function the same(such as the Audi 5-link).

A structural metal rod triangulated to the chassis will always be stronger than a bushing. Incorporating strut rods is just more costly because it adds compound angles and additional travel arcs to the suspension. Our cars came with strut rods, be happy about it.

Cheaper isn't always better i would pass on it i don't trust the design of it.

For about the same price http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/products/ has oem designed but beefed up parts like there roller perches and roller control arms.

Yes thank you, I am aware of that. But, it is not about the same price for 4 new arms and the need to replace the strut rod.

If you get the oem control arms its cheaper the boxed roller ones are pricey and kinda over kill on a street car.

Yeah, I am pondering boxing and installing the bearing kit from OTR, but I am not sold that a strut rod is really a good thing.
The strut rods are bolted to the lower arm and only pivots on the front end, but in reality its not a true pivot even with fancy strut rods since the end that bolts to the LCA is fixed in place, it's more of a "wobble" than a true arc. If it does make an arc it would need to twist the LCA, perhaps thats why we box the LCA? Either way it seems that it needs to pivot on the LCA if it is to work as advertised.
