Default questions

I can't seem to locate some of the following bolts in my pile of old hardware and need an idea of there size

1. tranny dipstick tube bolt that mounts on p-side head

2. tranny kickdown intake bolts (aka bell crank ?). They hold the v shaped bracket for the kickdown rod.

3. the sheetmetal screw that the blower motor ground attaches to on the firewall

4. also need to know what the screw/clip looks like or size for the 90 deg tab on the heater box that mounts to the cowl.

5. how does the spring attach to the back of the gas pedal

I'll probably have more questions like these later, but #2 is probably the most important as I get closer to start up.

In pix #1 you can see the hook up. Keep in mind this pix is up side down.

You also can see the answer to your #3. It is a 3/8” x 1/2” . it is the same size as those used to secure the gas pedal linkage to the firewall except these are 3/8 x 1 “ long.

In pix #2 you can see how it looks installed and ready for pedal to metal..

I don’t know the answers to your other questions because I cant figure where you are at with the question..

Note: secure the pedal to linkage first. then install the spring. you will have to use the feel process:

on my 65 200 6IL it is is on passenger side near the starter motor below the exhaust. You may have to remove starter to see it clearly..

Thanks echo, I got the pedal spring in place and in the car.

#1 since i have a v8 the tranny dipstick tube is routed just behind the passenger cylinder head and appears to mount to a hole closest to the shock tower.

#2 this link from another site shows how the kickdown linkage is connected to the silver bracket. What I'm trying to figure out is the size of the bolts that hold the silver bracket in place on the intake.

#4 this link shows the heater assembly, I'm looking for the bolt/clip that attach the L bracket just about the door on the right side.

And regarding the tag, I meant the aluminum tag that's bolted to the intake. Here is what I found, appears to be mounted near the passenger side valve cover and dizzy on the intake.

The only question I can help you with is the heater bolt. It is a 3/8” x 1 ¼” if it is the same one I show in the pix.

someone with a v8 will have to help you with your other q:

Much appreciated echo.

Got another question regarding the speedo cable. Can anyone tell me what size the bolt is that holds the speedo gear in place at the tranny tail housing?

Also, does any body have a pic of the white painted side of the of the stamped plate between the gauges and clear bezel of there instrument cluster? This would be for the piano type speedo cluster.
