Questions about Wheels.
I know some of you guys have went aftermarket for wheels. I think most went with 17 inch wheels.
My questions are:
What offset did you get?
How much backspacing is there on your offset?
Do you think something like this will fit?
Boss304 wheel auction
# Here are the specs:
* Bolt Pattern: 5 x 4.5
* Size: 18 x 8
* Offset: +40 mm
Not saying thats what I'm gonna get, or where I'm gonna buy it, but are those specs what I should be looking for?
Thanks
Shaun

If they fit a late model mustang like the auction says, they will have the incorrect backspacing for your application and you will need to spend additional money on proper 1 inch or so bolt on spacers to effectively and safely use those wheels on your vintage stang.
So what would be the proper backspacing I'm looking for. In MMs?
thanks for the answer, I'm not good with wheels and tires. Seems like I always buy tires to big and they rub [:@]

18x8 4.75 Backspacing will fit nicely on all 4 corners.
And of course this size is not on the readily available conversion charts:

The forumla is:
Offset = Rear Spacing — Total Wheel Width/2
Then you can convert to MM

Ohhhhhh! I can't bring myself to part with the rammie. But mines leather, woodgrain, electirc everything :P My parents have a new one, it drives nice and rides good, but I think the dash looks like a van. And the 318 may have more HP but I still have to pull it out :P
Is your new on a diesel?

Heres a little java site I found for help with tire dimension. You can compare different size tires to see what is close to the same size.
TIRE COMPARER THINGY MAJIGGER
I just wish I could remember what size tires are on my stang [:@] Guess I'll have to wait till I get home to decide what size tires I'm gonna need
