Default Fastback seats

Is a 1971 high-back seat frame the same as a 1969 high-back seat frame? I need to reupholster my seats and found out that they are 71 instead of 69. I want to use 1969 Mach 1 upholstery colors, but do not know if it will work on a 1971 frame. Any help will be appreciated.

Thumbs up

The standard interior features of the 1965 Mustang included adjustable driver and passenger bucket seats, an AM radio, and a floor mounted shifter in a variety of color options. Ford added additional interior options during the 1965 model year. The Interior Decor Group was popularly known as "Pony Interior" due to the addition of embossed running ponies on the seat fronts, and also included integral armrests, woodgrain appliqué accents, and a round gauge cluster that would replace the standard Falcon instrumentation. Also available were sun visors, a (mechanical) remote-operated mirror, a floor console, and a bench seat.

71 i am not sure about but i know that 69 and 70 have the back release latch in different places. It was years ago that i had my 70 covers done but i think the cover didnt have the hole cut for the latch. So you would be able to cut that hole where you need it but you should talk with the supplier before ordering to make sure this wont be a problem.

If you are going for a completly original restoration then you will need to find 69 frames.

Give Dan Nolian a ring or drop him an email. He's the president of the Mustang Barn. He would probably know the answer to your question.
