i have a 67 with a rebuilt 302 with a high end cam in it it was a comp cam i believe the kit number was 35-302-8 anyways i am having problems timing it. Someone told me to wire it as a 351 is this true

 

you only wire it like a 351 if the cam you are using has a 351 firing order...

 

I think some of the 5.0 HO engines used the 351 order also, I looked at comp cams website they didn't say which order for this cam but I am pretty sure that my son's comp cam he put in his Falcon uses the 351 order.

Wire it for 351, if it "fails" wire it for 289...

 

Comp Cams # 35-302-8 is a 5.0L camshaft. That camshaft uses that late model firing order. 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8.

You can tell on comp cams because 351/5.0 firing order cams are listed in their catalog under "5.0" while older firing order cams are listed as 260/289/302.
