Default Elgin Cam

Hey guys, I was wondering if some one could help with a question. I just finished having my 347 built and it has a Elgin Hydraulic roller Cam, part # E1018P. My question is what type of distributor gear material (cast iron, composite, hardened steel, bronze) should i use with this cam. Thanks for the help guys.

Depends on the cam gear. You need to find out if it's an iron gear pressed onto a roller cam, a standard steel gear/cam setup or what.

As an example, the hyd roller in my car is a billet cam core with a standard factory steel gear. But it's a custom cam too.
