Ok, yet another help me choose a cool paint thread...
My 64 1/2 coupe (slight restomod) has now been sanded (paint stripped)...all imperfections fixed...and will be primed soon (all chrome removed, etc...).
No emblems...don't like them.
Now I want my fellow Stang heads to choose a super duper cool paint.
This is a $5K paint/body work job...no Maaco stuff here...lol.
I've been saving for a while...now it's the time, he, he, he.
I'm open to suggestions....however...my top two at the moment is the Eleanor Dupont Metallic Gray and Metallic Black (LeMans stripes) color scheme...yeah, I know, it's not a 67 fastback...but I really love the color combination, lol.
The other is Candy Apple Red...I know it's not the color correct red for the 64 1/2, but remember, I'm not going for the original look, it's a slight restomod.
I can already see some purists gasping about both the Eleanor and the Candy Apple Red...lol.
I kinda like Nightmist Blue too...and I do like black...but man...it sure gets dirty a lot.
Perhaps even a plain gray/silver with no stripes...gulp...lol.
So come on...help a brother out, he, he, he.
Here...the two top contenders so far:

Thanks guys (and gals)!

I like that deep red one. That looks awesome! Its a much better choice than the played out Eleanor colors, and still looks classic. Don't get stripes either. They are gross on coupes.

I'm kinda leaning towards that Candy Apple Red...yes...lol.
I've seen cheap Candies done on rides...they look bad...but a well done one with quality paint is indeed pretty nice...very deep and lush.
Keep the suggestions coming!

I know the original 64 1/2 red colors are Rangoon Red and Poppy Red...but I don't like them...one is too bright...and the other is kinda orangy.
That's why I love Candy Apple Red...it's lush and dark.

Cranberry Pearl is another darker lush red color.
Here it is on a Chevelle...

Not quite as dark as Candy Apple Red though.
Sorry about posting Chevy's here...lol.

man I'm glad to see the back of the pink on your car. that haunted me for years :-) I really do like the color on that chevelle. it is a mixture between red and brown that did not turn ugly ... and ya, can't beat a dark blue mustang ;-)
LOL!
