electrical pulsing
You need to find a new Auto Parts Store or an employee who knows what the hell he is talking about.
Its the part MySavior shows in his picture.
This is the page for Cjs Pony Parts. I could swear I only paid about $15 for mine. Cj wants $50.

if im right 64-66 had one most people at the parts places are people that couldnt make it at mc donalds, alot of the people have no clue on these old cars, if its pulsating alot check battery mine did that and the battery was junk it was a 2 yr old red optimum top battery, if you have one or are buying a new battery stay away from the optimum battery unless you have a 100 amp alt the low amp factory 60 amp alts dont put out enough amps to keep them charged, a mustang place in arizona told me never put one in they are junk and will need replaced every year or so
so i talked to a dude at napa and he said in order to get an electronic voltage regulator in a 66 mustang it would have to be built into the altinator. does this compute with you guys? is there some part out there that i can put in there and not worry about? or will i have to put a voltage regulator in there every few years?
napa links didnt take me anywhere, the car does have a optima red top that i put in 4 months ago, i always thought optimas were high quality, my dad put a red top in his jeep in 96 and it still holds a charge til this day
I have used optima batteries in all my vehicles, 'cept my mustang as it doesn't run yet, and never had an issue either. I have one that has jumped three cars and still going strong.
The terminals never corrode, they stay clean, dont spill and dont rot metal.

I guess maybe if you use a generator and not an alternator that could be an issue.
Why I beg to differ mine has been putting foot to *** for the last 3 years daily driven and then used as a power source to run my sound system with the car shutdown so it doubles as an entertainment system as well.

You did read it right...Im just saying they work fine for me as well. I always charge at about 14v If you can stay above 13v then your charging system should be enough to handle the optima's requirements. If voltage were to sag below 12v then its safe to say that current draw is exceeding the alt's output capacity although I cant imagine a battery alone drawing that many amps during a charge.
I am kind of curious what amps the battery would draw alone after say starting a car that was sitting for a week.

Regardless of the charging system an optima will work well. They do have a larger capacity but our cars simply don't draw much current in any state. The alternator has more to do with current load then it does with battery capacity.
I could not tell that it helped and gets in the way some times.
I keep it in storage just in case.
I likewise installed shroud on 67 w/ electric fan and later removed it for maintenance as well.
I guess I just don't like the shrouds unless have problem w/ overheating.
I've heard rumors they came w/ one from factory?
