Default Side window leaks

Hi,

Restoring a 65 Mustang and and finished the interior, with one small problem. The side windows leak.

Does anyone have any suggestions or links to a manual that would help. I enjoy my ride but can only drive it on sunny days right now.

Thanks

the side vent window or the side main window?

Where does it leak from?

and both sides do this?

Is the weather stripping installed? Installed upside down?

Main Windows. The vents are fine. The weatherstrip is in right, but the windows meet it in the back and middle, but not at the front.

Both sides leak.

That's an issue I think I may have too. Won't know until it warms up and I can water test it. I have been thinking about what to do. Maybe bulk up the seal where it leaks somehow to allow better contact against the weatherstripping and door glass. But I don't want it to look rigged.

I'm still not sure where your saying it is leaking. A common place that just about all of our cars leak is at the top between the main window and the vent window. It will usually still leak with a new rubber peice there.

I think he's saying it is leaking at the front part of the door glass that meets the weatherstripping.

It leaks that bad. I was going to say these cars leaked even when they were new if you ran them through a carwash.

I have the same issue except the rear does not touch the seal, its a window adjustment issue, which for me, i need 4 more hands to attempt again. Its a BIG PIA. The shop manual tell you how to adjust.

Sorry I've been a little unclear. It' like mortman said. The winow meets the rubber in the back really well, but it slowly has less and less contact with rubber at the front. I have been trying to adjust the window. (Hence why I do not have the door panel on yet.)

Does anyone have a copy of the shop manual pages that tell how to adjust the window properly?

I bet 2+2GT has that diagram.

It took us a little while to get ours adjusted right too. I can't remember exactly what all we did. These links might help. There is a vent window angle adjustment.
