Default questions

I replaced my 3 speed trany with a T5 last weekend. Yep issues. I did not replace the clutch ect as I should have. So I am replacing the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing this weekend.
2 questions:
1. Do I need a special puller to replace the shaft bearing?

2. I have a loose exhaust (off the manifold) and need to tighten it, squirted with penetrating fluid and let it soak in, still wont budge! I have yet to try using an impact wrench because I don’t want the bolt to break.

Thanks

There are special pullers to remove the pilot bearing. Most people pack the bearing with grease and insert a shaft the size of the bearing hit it with a hammer and the grease serves as a hydralic and pushes the bearing out

You can use tissue, toilet paper or regular paper. Watch this:

I got mine out this way.

On the exhaust, use a torch. Mapp gas or oxy/acetylene would be good, but propane might work. Hit it again with penetrating fluid (PB Blaster or Aero Kroil; WD-40 is NOT a penetrating fluid), let it soak in a bit, then heat it up. It should break loose then.

Aero Kroil and PB Blaster are the best best best penetrating fluids ive seen. WD-40 is the worse thing ever created no wonder it tooks 40 times to create that crap!

I'd rather keep myself and the surrounding area free from grease.
